The Real Facts about women accesing porn

March 6, 2006 by agoldsmith

In perusing through the internet, in search for an article, I stummbled upon an interesting website.  Accessing the site, http://internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/internet-pornography-statistics.html, it made me realize that women, startling are accesing pornography at a rapid rate, not as fast as men, but pretty close.

To start off, women contribute for one third of all visitors to adult website.  Over nine million women enter porn sites each month.  Women apparently, are not keeping their porn activities to themselves in the quiet of their own home.  Alarmingly, women have admitted to downloading pornographic material at work.
Apparently, women are very secretive about their porn obsessions.  The social norms of society states pornography is obscene and should not be viewed.  Males often have a free pass, just because they are males.  If women exhibit any sense of sexuality, they are often typecasted by the stereotypes brought down by this society we live in.  That is why seventy percent of all women keep their porn activities secret.  Seventeen percent of all women struggle with porn addiction this website states.

The stats that were presented to me was not startling in the least bit.  Women should be able to excude their sexuality just like the men.  Isn’t that what this country was based on, the ability of free expression.  Women should not be looked down upon just if they are into porn, its their right to do so.

Cliffnote version of Andrew Goldsmith

Hello everyone, my name is Andrew Goldsmith. I am currently a junior, where i have switched my major to the field of communications. At first, I had aspirations of pursuing a degree in the field of Accounting, but I was unable to recieve admission to the School of Management. Basically me and calculus do not mix well together, so i decided to focus my attention elsewhere.

I enrolled in the class, mostly to fufill a requirement. Thinking to myself i need to take eight communication electives, I should find a class that sparks my interest. I choose Com497 because of a project I did my senior year of high school. My buddy and I decided to do a project on the economics of pornography. The information we compiled was simply mind-blowing with how much a powerhouse this industry really is. I am looking to furthering my knowledge of this area, and I can not wait to see what this course has to offer.
